SPAB Certified – (School Pupil Activity Bus)

AST Buses proudly offers SPAB Certified vehicles, ensuring the highest standards for transporting students safely and reliably. SPAB are specialized commercial buses specifically hired by school districts to facilitate the transportation of students for various activities, including field trips, sporting events, and other school-sponsored outings.

Operators of SPAB-certified buses are held to stricter regulations compared to those conducting non-student charter trips. This includes comprehensive safety measures and adherence to state laws aimed at protecting student passengers. AST is dedicated to equipping California schools with top-quality, SPAB-certified buses that are fully compliant with all state licensing requirements, ensuring they are not only roadworthy but also safe and dependable.

Each SPAB-certified bus undergoes rigorous inspections by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and is required to have complete inspections every 45 days or after 3,000 miles of operation, whichever comes first. Additionally, all SPAB drivers are mandated to complete at least 10 hours of annual training, encompassing essential topics such as safety protocols, emergency response, and effective student management techniques.
